Pacta Audit
Pacta Audit gives law firms and in-house counsel a complete audit workflow — document collection, full-corpus review against 4,000+ controls across all 50 states, gap analysis, remediated documents, and generated policies — all under attorney control at every step.
Who it's for
Run structured, repeatable compliance audits for your employer clients — without the manual checklist grind. Pacta handles the document collection, corpus review, and first-draft deliverables. You validate and present.
Run your own compliance audit internally — no outside firm required for the legwork. Pacta gives you the same structured process law firms use, on your own organization's document corpus.
The audit workflow
A repeatable four-phase process. The platform handles the heavy lifting; the attorney owns every output.
Enter client profile — employer type, employee count, operating states. The platform generates a tailored document checklist automatically: handbook, pay notices, background check forms, benefits documents, arbitration agreements, and more. Upload or mark N/A with a reason. Progress is tracked to 100%.
Not checklist-by-checklist — the entire uploaded document corpus is reviewed against every applicable control from the Master Matrix. 4,000+ controls covering 50 states, federal law, and local requirements across 8 risk categories. Each control is evaluated: satisfied, partial, missing, or unclear — with verbatim quotes from the corpus.
For partial gaps, Pacta produces edited versions of existing client documents — minimum changes, with a change log. For missing policies, it drafts compliant documents from scratch, with bracketed placeholders for entity-specific facts. The attorney reviews, edits, and approves all drafts before they go anywhere.
All four deliverables — findings catalog, recommendations memo, remediated documents, and generated policies — sit behind an attorney-controlled release gate. Nothing reaches the client without your explicit sign-off. You present the package; Pacta prepared it.
What you deliver
Every compliance gap and partial satisfaction, ranked by a severity formula that weights control risk score, required-by-law status, and penalty exposure. Grouped by risk category — Wage & Hour, Anti-Discrimination, Benefits & Leave, Hiring & Screening, Privacy, Staffing Operations, and more. Each finding cites the control, the jurisdiction, the legal authority, and verbatim quotes from the client's corpus showing exactly where the gap lives.
A narrative memo structured for attorney delivery to the client — not a raw findings dump. Prioritized by risk. Cites legal authority for each recommendation. Flags any findings that rest on AI-drafted criteria so the attorney can scrutinize before presenting. Written to be edited and signed off by counsel, not handed directly to HR.
For every existing client document with a partial compliance gap, Pacta produces an edited version that cures the deficiency. Minimum changes. Voice preserved. Delivered with a change log showing exactly what was modified and why. The attorney reviews and approves each remediated document before it goes to the client.
For controls where the client has nothing at all, Pacta drafts a compliant policy from scratch — tailored to the client's employer type, operating states, and industry. Bracketed placeholders flag facts the attorney needs to supply. The attorney completes and signs off before delivery. No template library to manage; the compliance matrix drives every draft.
The platform
The compliance engine is driven by a single source of truth: a 4,000+ row compliance matrix covering all 50 states, federal law, and local requirements across 8 risk categories — Wage & Hour, Benefits & Leave, Anti-Discrimination/EEO, Hiring & Screening, Health & Safety, Privacy & Data, Staffing Operations, and Records & Compliance. Every control carries a risk score, required-by-law status, penalty exposure summary, and the evidence an attorney would request from a client. This matrix drives the audit, the heatmap, and the handbook compliance check.
Pacta tracks employment law changes across all 50 states as bills move through legislatures — scored for relevance to employer compliance by risk category. State-level risk scores update as legislation advances, and attorney-approved changes publish to the public risk map. For audit clients, new findings driven by enacted law surface against your delivered audit — your compliance posture stays current, not frozen at the date of the engagement.
The public compliance risk map at compliance.pactalegal.ai/risk shows employment law complexity by state — updated as legislation moves. Click any state for a risk score breakdown by category and recent legislative activity. Free, no login required.
Pacta's handbook tool lives at handbook.pactalegal.ai and runs on the same compliance matrix. Generate a 50-state employee handbook from scratch, or upload an existing handbook for a gap analysis and redline review. The compliance audit and handbook workflows share the same underlying controls — a finding in an audit can map directly to a handbook gap.
Every document uploaded to a client engagement is PII-scrubbed before any AI call — names, SSNs, phone numbers, and email addresses replaced with placeholders. Scrubbing runs on the raw corpus before it touches the Anthropic API. Client data stays client data.
All four deliverables — findings, memo, remediated docs, generated policies — are attorney-only until you explicitly release them to the client. The platform makes it impossible to accidentally deliver AI-drafted work product before you've reviewed it. Every recommendation that rests on AI-drafted criteria is flagged for attorney scrutiny before presentation.
Any employer can run a quick compliance self-assessment for a single state — no login, no payment. Answer yes/partial/no for each applicable control and get a traffic-light score by risk category. It's a deliberately simplified view; the full findings, evidence, and recommendations are attorney deliverables available through a paid engagement.
